I'm about 2 weeks into cycling a new tank, just started seeing Nitrite yesterday and suddenly I have to go away for a week. (I have no choice). My husband will be home but knows nothing about fish tanks...I could have him add ammonia or possibly walk him through testing the water via video chat. Today is Thursday and I leave Saturday. Any suggestions for things I should do right before I leave Saturday morning? I tested the water yesterday, my ammonia was at 2 (maybe slightly less) and nitrite about 0.25ppm. Thanks all!

Unless you can trust your husband to follow instructions to the letter, I would just leave the tank. The bacteria you have grown won't die off unless you'll be away for months, it's just that without feeding they won't multiply. If you start adding ammonia as per the method on here once you are home again, it'll just mean the cycle will take a bit longer than if you hadn't gone away.
