I may be wrong (forgive me if I am) but uhhh.... I'm pretty sure most of those fish will eventually fight each other (possibly killing each other). I wont say anything about the decor, because you said it needed some attention anyways...

Mmmm so far so good. They've been in the tank for 3 months and apart from the siamese tiger that ate my first fish with were the shark tales. Everyone else seems humble on there. Fingers 🤞

that tank and stand are quite impressive
with a bit more work, I see a great entry in our Tank of the Month contest..

You…. You do realize Shark Tale is an animated movie and not a reflection on how fish act in real life, right?
Unless I’m totally misunderstanding the statement, which is possible.

I've started out on a journey where I probably am more knowledgeable on kids animated movies.

This is a massive learning curve but I am eager and excited to keep moving forward with this hobby.

Wow. Did not expect to be explaining this to someone today, but here goes.
First of all, a cleaner wrasse fish (which is the type of fish Oscar is) cannot kill a shark. Period. These little fish hang around coral reefs and eat shrimp and other meaty things. This should indicate that the fish in Shark Tale are one of the furthest versions from the truth. (They also, as far as research shows, don’t place bets on seahorse races)
Second, I suggest that you do some actual research (here or books) on the fish you have in your tank. I have a feeling some of them can get pretty big, not to mention the fact that, as others have been saying, you will eventually end up with unhealthy, stressed, and dead fish, because these fish are not meant to be kept together in small spaces. They will eat/harm each other eventually, just from being in a small space together.
Hope this helps, please do some good solid research on your fish :)

Can you explain why in detail also?
Id be happy to! @Byron can also explain in detail the chemical aspects of this.
Please know that we are not trying to be disrespectful or rude, only trying to help and do what's best for the fish in this scenario:)
The fish you have are simply not compatible. They will fight. If they don't visibly fight they will release hormones into the water (all fish do this, all the time, to communicate) if the fish are not compatible they will be aggressive, stressing the other fish out. Stress will kill the fish. @Byron is much better at explaining it, but that's the simple version

The guy from a reputable fish keeper took a list of my fish and said fish eat fish. Just make sure that they can't fit in each others mouth.

He quoted it's a gamble on any fish you put together. A bit like human beings, stick a few humans in a room together and it only takes one to cause upset.

So what do I do now?
