My Sand Goes Greeny Gray Ish (algae)

my sand goes greeny gray ish, algae i think.
when i turn the sand it will come back after a few days 3-4 days.
also i get algae on the glass but it grows very quickly its quite slimy. i can get that off with a magnet

i so 30% water changes but for the past couple of weeks ive started to do 40%

i use childrens play sand if i change to aquarium sand would that be beter?

You really reed to find out what kind of algae it is before you can
find out how to get rid of it

I had the same kind of algae on my sand. I think it was due to a thick
layer of sand, allowing all kinds of crap to brew up in there.

So I took loads of it out, leaving me with a 1" layer, and haven't had it since.

How often are these water changes?

i bought khuli loaches and that sorted my sand problem out

i do my water changers once a week. but im think of doing one WC one week then 2 the next so on....
i also took loads of sand out and i have less than a inch in now but it still comes back
some one told me that its to much light but... i have a trigon 350 and i only had the front set of lights on to see if that stoped it but NO.
iIf i try a difrent type of sand maybe??
