Here’s my little patio pond. I have 2 of them. The other I am still deciding what I want to do with it. One has a small group of rosy barbs and a small group of flagfish. It currently has a jungle of Anacharis as well as many other plants, and in the summer, floating plants. I know this is controversial, but I don’t have a filter or bubbler for it. I’ve had it up for a year or so, and everyone is doing great. I let the algae roam free, no matter what kind it is. I built it inside of an old wine barrel, lined it with thick pond liner, and filled it with pea pebbles. Beautiful pond in the summer…not so beautiful in the winter.

Brill love it, I have the same but on a larger scale. Never ran a pump or filter for over 25 years, I have 2 comets that are about 15 years old and a lot of frogs in spawning season. The weed has to be maintained in summer time but it hosts an array of wild water shrimp and insects.
