I've been looking on various websites, and they all say the size of a tank I need for German Blue Rams is 10 gallons. So, I think that's what I'm going to do in my 10 gallon instead of the Shell Dwellers. Now, other than the German Blue Rams, what other inhabitents can go in the 10 gallon with them? I'm assuming nothing else, but I'd like to know if there is. Thank you!

I wouldn't do a set of Rams in a 10 gallon. Look under the fish index here and it will say at least 30 gallons. By not having adequate space it could cause stress and little squables over territory.

And no, if you decide to do the Rams (highly un-recomended) you cannot put anything else in the tank.

I don't want to upset you Sandman mate, but I do disagree slightly.
A friend of mine is currently breeding some dutch rams (i dont know if these are smaller than the german ones) in a 2'x1'x1' tank which has about 10 gallons after substrate and rocks etc, the have not bred yet but are very happy and do not squabble at all, they've been there for several weeks now and although still a bit juvenile, seems they may start breeding at some point.
Tanks mates are a few guppys, exellent tankmates for them as they continually produce fry which the Rams hunt for, so getting them into condition is a relative doddle.
I understand that some may feel this is cruel to the guppys but it is after all a very natural part of life in the wild, and as fishkeepers it is a common goal of ours to replicate a natural enviroment and behavior for our fishes.
Obviously the tank has plenty of plants, hiding places etc so the fry do have a good chance and a fair few survive to be too big for the Rams to bother chasing.

Its very different having a 10 gall tank purely for breeding than actually having the fish live in it all the time. I wouldnt have 2 German Rams in a 10 gall, there simply isnt enough room for them to swim, explore or create a few nesting/hiding areas.

If you take into consideration that its 10 Gall empty, then remove the space taken by Gravel, Plants, Wood/Stones, Heater, Internal Filter (maybe), its prob gonna be nearer 8 gall usable definately not large enough.

...it says 10 gallons.

DarkEntity, your post made no sence to me. You said you would have them in a 10g, and then went on about why it wasn't good.

last i read, the minimum for a community with rams was 20, but i have heard of them being bred in a ten. mine are in a ten right now for temp. purposes and are certainly not as happy as they were in the 20.
