I have switched things around. My betta was really picking on the oto since the oto is pretty calm and just sits there. because of this the oto got sick and had a worm growing out of him and was pretty pale.
I ended up setting up a little plastic container as a hospital and revived him and got him back to health.
The cories are still in with the betta since they are more skitish and can out swim the slow poke.
Anyways I ended up taking my old 3 gallon that was for sale and I am using it as an oto tank.
I bought some stuff and switched it up to sand. Also got a piece of driftwood since I read somewhere they like the soft wood to cling too.
Anyways a pic of that tank.
Have two oto in the tanbk above with plants. Also since its an eclipse system I switched the filter to filter floss and instead of teh bio wheel using the seachem matrix for my bacteria colonies.
I did the same setup now on the big tank which is the 6 gallon and things are runing nice. have the betta and two cories and the betta bubble nests every night.
I also assed some more leafier plants.
In the big tank i modified the intake on the filter to have a tube that reaches to the top of the tank. My idea is like a small skimmer to help get surface crap out too. seems to be working well.
I found the flourish wasnt helping other then regrowing the java moss that i ripped out but now its growing on the little hut where I wanted.
I also added plant spikes under the sand in the big tank and two in the small tank so will know in a couple weeks if that helps out. Hopefully it helps revive my sick plants in teh smaller tank since the on eplant was rotting.
Ill update then.
