One of my first times on this board not even a month ago, I seen a video of a fry being born. I thought that was cool... And being I had a very pregnant guppy I waited patiently to get video of my own births, and it payed off.....

The Guppy Birth Videos are no longer available on here, I do have them on my hard drive, anyone interested in seeing them, I could pass them along through e-mail or downloads. Thanks, Inker

It was fun, and all in all I managed to scoop 30 fry out of the tank, she ate about 4 or 5.

One question though to those who would know....... My already running fry tank had 6 fry in there and one or two are getting bigger, about 6 weeks old. They are much bigger then the newbies, but seem still very small when sized up against the adults. Will these older fry eat the younger fry?

I am getting a messy fry tank as well, it is a bare bottom and I wonder if a cory will not hurt the new borns... and what kind of cory can i grab if they are safe to use to clean up the bottom. Or should I just vacuum it out periodically?

Thanks all for viewing the videos :)

Nice clips of the birth! :)

My guppy when she dropped her very first fry wasnt a fraction of that size and she had over 20!! I dont know why she doesnt get so fat like they usually do. She just looks like she had a good snack. Right now she's due any second and she looks smaller than last time.

I know what you mean about the messy fry tank, mine is bare bottom too and vaccuming it doesnt make it look much better! :D

I was thinking the same thing about a cory clean up crew..Id like to know also. :)

Congrats on your fry Heather.Nice camara work there.
Corys are fine to keep with baby gups;Just make sure the cory gets enough food, either fronm the babies food sinking to the bottom or from cat fish pellets. You are doing some thing right, leaving the tank bare.It is easier to clean it that way.Make sure you make daily is possible, water changes of no more than 10%.
About your older fry eating the younger generation,or the cory for that matter......Keep the brand new babies in a breeding trap for a day or two. When they are born, they usually look out for hidding places and usually go to the bottom and dont swim too well.In a day or so they usually get stronger and ready to face their older siblings.
Good luck
