Ive only been keeping fish for a few months and just bought 2 new fish the other day (a mollie and a balloon mollie). The day after purchasing them the balloon mollie died and then a couple of hours after that the mollie started giving birth. I didnt have a clue what I should do so I called a friend who knew a bit more about fish, So as it was 9 o'clock at night I couldnt go to a pet shop for a breeder net so my friends advice was to cut the bottom of a 2ltr bottle of coke and poke lots of holes into it, I placed it in my tank attaching it to the side using my magnetic algae scrapper and managed to get all 12 baby fry into it before they got eaten. I put a few floating leaves from the plant in the tank into the bottle and I now need to know what I should do next
I read a few suggestions on the forum about how to feed them and how long it will be before I will be able to put them back in with the rest of the fish but i have a different problem.
I should start by giving you details of my tank:
28ltr AquaStart 320 - (So its only a small tank)
4 Neon Tetras
2 Danios
1 Platy
1 Mollie - (The one that gave birth)
&
Now
12 fry mollies in a half 2ltr bottle with holes in the sides.
My main problem is the tank size, as its only 28ltr is it possible to bring them up in this tank?
If anybody can help it will be much appriciated, Thanks in advance, icedav
