I had a master plan of putting water and everything in the 120 today, went out to purchase a filter, ready to shell out a pretty penny and got distracted when I went into Petco to compare their price with my lfs's price, theirs was a LOT higher but it was ALSO adopt a dog weekend  ,soooo of course my 4 year old stood around petting all of them forever, I finally scapped her up and drug her off to my lfs, I told her we were going to double check Mr.Lys prices and then run up to PetSmart so she could look at the dogs there too. She was sold.

I go to my lfs and looked over everything and honestly their prices can't be beat, but it gets better! Mr.Ly told me he had a used (barely) Magnum 350 he'd sell me for 60 bucks, right on!! He had it in the back because he got p.o.ed at it once,so I took it. BUT kiddo still wants to hold me to the "PetSmart" bargain,so we go.....and we fall in love with this dog,and I just so happen to have some extra cash since I saved so much on the filter,so well....you can guess the rest

HOURS later I'm setting the filter up on one of my older tanks to try it out....SHEEEESH,I messed up and pulled the plug without switching it off and water floods my kitchen, I start bellowing "WTF!!! Tuesday, get me some towels!!!!!" I mop up the mess and pack up the filter and head back to my lfs so they can explain it to my simpleton self  ,I finally got it!.

Then I get back home and set it up on my 29,it works great,so I rinse my gravel & start to fill the 120 with water which took FOREVER,but it was worth it. I finally moved the filter on to it a little while ago but now it's too late to move any fish (or steal any of their seeded gravel) so all that will have to wait until tomorrow. But at least I'm half way there *sigh*
All in all,it turned out to be a pretty ok day (exhausting though :p )

that sounds like a heck of a day.... but I already have the dogs and the cats so no worries about that I will have no problems with saying that they already have 2 dogs at home!!! :p :p :p

lol, that's going to be my new line   ,"you already have a dog!!!!"

But strange enough, she's already planning for the next one

I sure hope you are not filling your 120 via buckets!!!????? OUCH!!! That would suck! :X

yuppers, and it did suck! I tried the "drag the hose into the house" once when I was filling my 42 and things went a little haywire, when I went to shut the hose off outside the hose popped out of the top and sprayed EVERYWHERE,all over my dining room and into the next room, all over my desk and my printer which bled black ink all over my carpet     ,THAT sucked!!!

I got my dog because we thought that I was going to be getting deployed and so I had to give him up to the humane society as he didn't like women, but my wife promised me another dog, so I got my mini rotti, ( actually she is a mini dachshund) and then my wife wanted a dog so we got our cocker.

My husband wanted a dachshund,he had one while growing up and he loved it I opposed because I think they bite. He went on & on "oh no they don't blah blah blah" so while at his sisters early Halloween evening I pitched the idea to her, she said "ohhhh no,they bite!" He steps in and defends Oliver (their old dog) and she says "Mike! that dog bit me every day!!!!"
I laughed so hard I almost started crying and that pretty much sealed the subject of a dachshund

We also toyed with the idea of a cocker sp, I was discussing it with a friend of mine and her boyfirend, and I was saying "the ONLY dog I've ever been bitten by was a cocker" and he said the same thing, I figured two out of 3 people sitting at a table that had been bit by a cocker spaniel aren't good odds

you know I have never had a dog bite me or my wife, probably because they both know what the results would be :( :( :(

exactly, and you'll feel even more-so like that once your kiddo is born  ,the new dog seems nice but she's a little ....excited (jumps) I can't stand that, I hope I can break her of it -_-

that is really easy to break them of, all of my dogs have always only done it when they are told to, of course when they get really excited all training goes in the wind, but otherwise in the house with just me and the wife they don't jump up at all. I use the correct the action and reward when they do it when you want them to. for my dogs it is down when I don't want them to followed by a tap on the head and when I want them up I tap my chest and tell them up, I am even getting my cocker to dance for me using that

aaaawww,I bet that's cute!(dancing). This one has great potential, I could see it in her eyes. My hubbys gung-ho on the idea of her sleeping outside  , I put her out a couple of hours ago and just went to check on her a few minutes ago,she was SOOOO excited, I feel bad for her. We never kept our dogs outside at night when I was growing up, I don't know how  :/

I've used the "down!" all day it seems, but she listens when I say it, I guess she just forgets a few minutes later  I've made sure to tell her she's a good girl after I take a sharp tone with her,it's ok,it's her first day here and she has every reason to be excited  :D

actually I am alot like your hubbie as I grew up in the boonies and NEVER EVER kept a dog in the house till I got out of basic and moved in with my now wife

so what kind of pup is she?

well I'm going to have to play off his emotions and weaken him, theres no way I'm leaving a dog out in the cold during winter, luckily it's in the 70's right now ;)

she's 2 years old ,so she's pretty much full grown. They said that someone dumped her at the pound about 8 months ago with a litter of her puppies, the pound had a parvo outbreak and they were going to put down all the dogs, herself and her babes included ,but the humane soc. stepped in and saved her and 3 other dogs.
She's a pug/terrier mix. Very original looking. She's black completely and looks like a mini black lab puppy in the body but she has a curly pug tail  ,I couldn't resist the face and the tail

well with the terrier in her it sounds like you are going to be going through ALOT of toys and training may be a bit difficult becuase terriers are so HIGH strung, but I am sure that she is a little cutie. ( my wife and I love our dogs so studing is included with dogs as well as fish in my house)

I went to check on her again (see what a wuss I am!) and I got sucked into her cuteness for a few minutes.
Your right on about the toys!! We bought her a rubber ball and she already ripped it to shreds
