My clown loach have white spot :( This is what ive done :
ive dosed with white spot terminator (King British) at half dose, turned heater up, increased airation.
No carbon in filter.
Can i run a uv filter durring treatment?

Is there anything else i can do

Oh my stats are Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 20ppm, PH 7.5, temp was 26 but now turned up and currently at 27.5 and rising.

Once the parasite on the fish uv are pretty unless.
You also need to get the temp to 30.

I would follow the med instructions on the uv filter.

theres not much else you can do, you doing the best thing now

cant answer about the uv sorry =[

as long as your temp hits just above 30.c then it should kill it off, keep it like that for at least 5 days to make sue its all gone

edit: lol wilder got there before me

Ok thanks wilder & mewmew42, i shall get the temp to just over 30c.
It doesnt say anything on med instructions about uv filter.

Ask in tropical discussion about the uv filter.
Never used them myself.

Uv filters are only good when whitespot in the free swimming stage.
Once the parasite attaches to the fish the uv filter can't zap them.

That makes sense, if attatched to the fish then it wont get zapped as the fish doesnt go through the uv filter. :good:

Wow. Just checked my clowns and The White spots on the clowns has gone. I only added the med last night. Temp is now 29c

Ok.
You need to treat at least another week once spots have vanished.

My clowns are doing well :), I'm continuing the treatment still, how long do i keep the temp at 30'c ? I dont want to harm my fish.
fish in this tank are clown loach, denisoni barbs, silver sharks, pleco

Best to treat one more weeks once spots have gone. Also keep the temp at 30 also for another week.
