i have a blue veil tail betta. it has been in 1 litre water for 3 weeks with rotting hydrilla stems and it doent have any biological filtration its like its almost dead. i have an azoo palm filter on the way and i,m gonna make a deluxe 5 gallon betta tank for a new arrival and give this one to my friend.
will it survive have given it a salt bath and am gonna put it in fresh water with 100 percent water changes every day twice a day till my new tank and filter arrives and is cycled. is this ok?

P.S: i know i was extremely careless but i need advice quick

ouch ouch ouch ouch

1litre of water! =( take out the rotting plant thats bad!

I think 2 100% water changes wont be enough, do it regularly with water temp VERY SIMILIAR OR THE SAME or you will shock it and possibly kill it.

make sure you dechlor aswell...

5gal with a filter should be fine!

Bagu :)

thank you for the quick reply.
but the betta is floating as if it were dead but still breathing and it also has,nt eaten for atleast 2 weeks and is,nt eating now either!!!!!!!!!!

Does he look bloated.
If water quality was bad with rotting plants he could have a bacterial infection.
Any sores or red streaking on his body.
