I've had a tank for 5 months now. It's not a large hobby of mine I just enjoy having a fish tank to sleep to and to take care of. One of my algae eaters look like its sick. It has turned COMPLETELY white. The other one of the exact same kind has not though. Does anyone know whats going on with him/her? The one that is turning white that is?

Looks like this guy.

I wasn't kidding when I said to fill as much of this out as you can. Our advice is useless to you if we don't know what's causing this. Also, if you can at least get a picture of the fish maybe we can identify the species. Knowing what type of fish it is is also necessary. There are many algae eaters commonly sold in pet stores, but they have a wide range of water preferences which, if left unfufilled, could be the cause of your problem.

Also, if you don't have test kits you can get a sample of your water tested at the LFS.

We need more info.

How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

First thing to do is rule out bad water quality.

He has a wound on his head near the top of the gill.
Is that an injury.

Thanks kelly.
