hey guys, used to post here but its been such a long time theyve deleted my account, sorry, my bad.

anyways, ive been running a tank for about a year and a half now, my current stocks are a bristlenose, 3 danios and 3 harlequins, oh and 2 fan shrimp (yes i know that they should be in bigger shoals)

sorry, to the point within the last few days one of my danios has been hugging the bottom 3 inches of the tank, he almost looks hunchback. i know that this could possibly be the swimbladder? but how do i fix this?

also, i think my harlequin is pregnant, its been swimming ok up untill this afternoon, where it seems to be having difficulty.

i did a 20% water change within the last couple of days and my shrimps are ok which suggests my water quality is ok?

any help would be REALLY appreciated, thanks.

It's doubtful that the Harlie is pregnant. Harlequins are egglayers, and would not be that swollen. Not sure what the problem could be, but the first thing you need to do is water quality tests...ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates...

all my test tubes are broken so im unable to do a test, however as i said i did a 20% water change 2 days ago and my shrimp are fine, i know inverts are normally the first to 'flag' when water quality is down?

unfortunately i cant, i wasnt concerned untill today when its swimming was affected, i thought it was pregnant.

ill get a test kit asap but it will be a minimum of tomorrow which i think will be too late.

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
When you say hunch back do you mean a bent spine.
Danio spine can bend when they get old, so how old is he.
Are the scales sticking out.

yeah, the danio seems to be swimming more freely now. I'll get a water test done today, unfortunately the harlequin died.
I've had the tank(danios being my first fish) for around a year and a half, so they're around that age. Is that regarded as old?
