MTS is kicking in since my girlfriend told me we could get another tank for the bedroom. it will be at least 50 gallons anywhere from 50-70 it will be four feet long. it wont have sand, I'll use all this gravel I've collected so Corys are out of the picture.

im looking for groups.of active fish I was hoping to fill the tank with lots of smaller fish. maybe a mix of mid and top dwellers. I already have harlequin rasbora so unless their price goes down

also while I'm here I also have a 50 gallon with a red tail black shark and three synodontis jaguar hybrid catfish I was looking for something to add some activity to the tank. and grows to an inch and a half at least so they dont become food down the road.

suggestions?

Rummy nose tetras..... brilliant to watch in a large group!! Deffo get some, really active!

do they branch off on their own as well? was looking for maybe 2-3 large groups instead of the 8 or so smaller groups my main tank has

Be careful about the weight on the floor, I am not nit picking it's just that I read on other places of the floor in the upper rooms not capable of taking the weight.

Having said that I hope everything is OK and you get the tank, I have 5 at the moment but got dreams of a really big one.

the floor is fine I lucked out and live in an apartment with concrete walls and floors under the drywall and flooring. my living room already houses my 125, 67, and 50 gallons along the wall

yea my rummys go off alone but always come back to each other, im getting more at the weekend but the reason i got them was in the lfs he had 100 in an 8ft tank, they looked amazing they all swan together then went off in smaller shoals, i could have stood there all day, plus their little red faces are a good indicator of water health, the redder the face the better!!! i was told think of them as the canary down the mine of the fish world :good: wish i had a bigger tank id stock it completely with rummy!!

alright they're a possibility I know the lfs always has them in stock they never seem to rotate them out for something else

black phantom tetras - 11+ of them. awesome to watch...

cheers

I got 5 of them in my large tank, and while they're larger then I originally thought they do stick together but aren't that active unless a rainbowfish is chasing one or its feeding time

Really? Mine are super active, lots of interaction between the fish, raising dorsal fins, sideways swim passes etc. love them to bits, my tank favourites...

Cheers

Err ya I have Black Neon not Black Phantom. I saw the phantoms at the LFS once Its not something they always stock

After looking at this guy's tank, kinda want to go for this feel, lots of smaller active guys with some plants
