Hi, i am new to the forums. I have a 55 gallon tank that is home to a angle fish, a african butterfly fish, a red fin shark (there was 4, and i plan on getting more again), a pleco, and algae eater. Also a 10 gallon with a golden gourami and 3 tiger tetras.

In may i will be moving from Wyoming to Maine. I was really hoping there was some way my fishies could make the trip with me. If anybody knows any info on this PLEASE say it :p. Or even any sites with info.

Thank You!

Below is a thread on moving with fish but your situation is different than simply moving across town. It can probably be done but would be difficult to say the least. Hopefully, someone has had similar experience and can offer insight.

thank you :)

would anybody know the name of the box that you can transport them in that can have a heater and filter in them?

What I did personally was bought one very large cooler from walmart, and two five gallon setups from walmart with the light, and the filter included. I then bought a car adaptor that I could plug both of the tanks into. I then filled both tanks with water from the main tank, but just enough to have the filters working, and placed them inside the cooler...mainly for when some of the waters spills out (which I gurantee it will) it won't go all over the car. I've done this twice, and haven't lost a single fish...and both moves were 2,000+ mile drives across country.

Great idea LoachLover. I knew someone would have done it before. Basically 2 insulated mini tanks for the trip.
