Tonight I plan to move my tank onto a new stand. It's 29 US gallon tank. My plan is to take some tupperware and put the fish in those. I'll put the gouramis in one, tetras in another, and rainbow fish in another. Maybe the gouramis should be separated. The BIOWheel I will either leave in the tank or put it in one of the fish containers so it doesn't dry out. Then I'll empty the tank most of the way, leaving a few inches for the corys. Hopefully the tank should be light enough for me move from one stand to another. While the tank is away from the wall I am going to change the background also. Then I'm hoping to be able to move the stand/tank a couple feet along the floor into position, refill, turn everything on, when the temperature is good return the fish.

Does anyone see any flaws in my plan?

Thanks,
Karl

Put all or most of the water from the aquarium in buckets so you can refill with the aged water. That's my only tip.

That might be hard as I only have a single 2.5 gallon bucket. I have to stop at The Home Depot on the way home from work. Maybe I'll pick up a cheap bucket while I am there. Are you saying that even if I keep my filter intact, my tank will no longer be "mature" if I refill with fresh water?

Thanks,
Karl

If you keep your filter intact then it'll be fine. Adding old water doesn't really make to much difference and it's not something I would do... I always use the chance to do a near 100% water change! :good:
