Moving Fish From A 10 Gallon To A 30 Gallon

Not if you move the filter media, along with the fish from the 10 gallon. That media has enough bacteria to support the bio load of the fish in the 10 gallo, whether it be 10 gallons of water or 100. The tank is just a glass box that contains the water.

You can move the filter itself, or place the media from the 10 gallon filter into a larger filter. If you have only undergravel filtration, move all the gravel, as that it your bio media.

yes just we they said move your filter media and or filter setup. that where all of your benificial bacteria is hangin out. if thats not the filter you want to use, hook up your old filter temporarily and also your new filter. run them both for some time the bacteria will colonate your new filter as well. and then you can remove your old filter back to your old tank

keep an eye on the ammonia/nitrite levels, though when you do it. Beneficial bacteria also grows on objects / in the gravel
