Ok, so i have had a bit of a CO2 water leak issue, where the tank has shed about 2-3 gallons of water on the floor over a few days. In order to dry the carpet properly underneath the tank, I would really need to move it.

I don't want to empty the tank completely (unless i have to of course), so does anyone have any thoughts as to how much water i would need to drain to make it safe to move for me and my lifting abilities, but also for the structure of the tank...!

Its a 48 US Gallong 180 Litre Juwel RIO 180 with stand..

Cheers

When I moved my 200L, I could only just move it with the gravel in and maybe about 10% of water. It was even a struggle then. As I moved it the load shifted so much from one point to another I was worried about it.

i moved my sisters 28l tank yesterday with just the gravel in and it was rather heavy !

i'd remove all the water put the filter into some old tank water move the empty tank do the carpet fill the tank up add water conditioner then the filter and the fish again !

it might not be heavy with say 1/4 of the water sill in but when the water shifts quick it is very dangerous and you may drop it :D

but its only my opinion :D

Thanks for all your help.. I may have managed to get round doing it. My parents came round with this water sucking hoover that sucked up some of the excess water in the carpet, and you can switch the hoover into warm blow too. My dad has added this attachement that narrows the flow to fit under the stand, and i am leaving it on warm blow for 15 mins at a time and the carpet is drying ok.. pheww..
