Hi, i have two mollies in a tank together at the moment, on is a large male dalmation molly (Sampson) which now looks almost completly black and the other is just a smallish female orangy/white molly(Peaches). The black one keeps following the orange one everywhere and appears to be biting or doing something to the orange ones belly. I'm worried cause two of my other mollies have died which i think is down to the black one. I have no idea if they are fighting or breeding or whatever? i'd really appreciate some help. Also, how would you tell if she was pregnant?
Thanks Alot!

you need more females really, to stop the male being aggressive to the one fish and spread it's aggression.

to tell if they are pregnant look for a black gravid mark behind her stomach.

are they the only fish in the tank? and is the tank set-up to be brackish?

:good:

they are the only two fish in the tank at the moment because its a new setup. its a rio125 so they have alot of swimming space right now, and i am hoping to introduce some angel fish, maybe guppies and maybe gourami in the next week or so? so you think this would help? or should i also place a couple more female mollies in there?
there is quite a size difference in the size betwen the male and female mollies, should i get two females that are a similar size to the female or the male?
I also need to get rid of a Red Tailed Black Shark cause he's just being too aggressive in the rio125 and i want to make it a peacefull tank, and i just dont have the space for a load of seperate tanks cause i already have goldfish in a small tank and a Betta in its own tank. do all fish shops take unwanted fish off your hands?

well more female mollies at the same size as the male.

goldfish need tanks of 20g + , you know?

not all lfs will take fish back.

and mollies like salt in there water to stop them getting diseases.

:good:

yeah my goldfish are in a large hexagon tank, but i am soon giving them to a friend who has a massive tank. Thanks for all your help!

Im not sure how many gallons the hexagon tank is. Its about the same height as the rio125, and about 50cm wide. they are quite small goldfish though so im pretty sure they have enough space. ive had them for 4 years and theyve never looked unhealthy.
