Hi folks, I have a silver mollie with a very nasting looking cluster of lessions on her head.

Tank size: 155 litres
pH: 7.8
ammonia: 0.0
nitrite: 0.0
nitrate: 20ppm
gH: Not sure of exact number but it is medium hard.
tank temp: 25 deg

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior:
Skinny, red lessions around her head. Fish is active, no clamping & she is eating.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 25% twice a week

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Treated with Waterlife Sterazin two weeks prior as I suspected she had worms originally (weight loss & stringy poo)

Tank inhabitants: 4 black mollies, 1 dalmation, 9 zebra danios, 10 cherry barbs & 6 panda corries

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): None

Exposure to chemicals: None

I would say yes Wilder, a patch appears bloody & red & then seems to settle only for another patch to appear near it within a few hours. The original sore area then appears raised.

The link for the wormer doesnt seem to work. <edit> got it now, cheers.

Red patches that have a circling of dead white tissue around the edges are ulcers.
You will need if in the uk. Anti internal bacterial med by interpet.

I would also get the worming med I left a link to.

Thnaks very much. My LFS suggested the interpet med & I added the first dose yesterday. Can I use the other med at the same time or do I need to finish the Interpet course first?

You can double dose interpet med in severe cases. But it might knock water stats. I no improvement by the next dose I would go in with double dose.

I would finish the bacterial med first then add the worming med as not sure if you can mix meds with it.
