so I have not done a water change in my tiger teddy tank, as the babies are so small, so I modified this to syphon out water from my shrimp, and tiny live bearer tanks… I’ll be using it tomorrow, as soon as the silicone cures… this is for the 4-10 gallon tanks I have differing colors of neocardia shrimp, and tiny live bearers in… my power water change screen has 1/2 inch lines and 1/8 inch mesh screen… this uses 3/8 inch line and is a smaller mesh screen…

For my tanks with fry and/or shrimp I place a piece of cheese cloth over the open end of the vacuum tube and attach the cloth with a rubber band.

Hello Magnum. Nicely done. I used to use a small python tube covered with the netting from an old fish net and secured with a rubber band to do the water changes in the tanks where I kept really small fry. Fortunately, those days are over and I just have the one 55 gallon tank for my Brassy Minnows.

this is a stainless mesh screen, left over from work, so I repurposed it out of a junk box I brought home, when I had to finish emptying the building…

A lot better design than my siphon for my 3-gal  I just used a stainless steel cocktail straw and some airline hose

BTW… this still has the squeeze bulb syphon starter on the other end, so no sucking or prefilling the hose needed…
