Mirror At Back Of Fish Tank

would a mirror at the back of a fish tank effect the fish, i've noticed that it doesnt seem to be common practise, are there reasons for this

i have a 25ltr pets @ home fry tank, that has the mirror back to it,
maybe they sell it like this to make it look bigger. it dont bother my fry at all, but it makes out i have twice as many .

Some fish love it and some hate it. If you are only keeping schooling species which like big groups a mirror can make them feel more comfortable but territorial fish like cichlids or redtailed sharks just spend the whole time getting angry with their reflections.

I agree - they're good for shoaling species, particularly if you plant them it does make the tank look bigger. anything territorial, or male betta's, are likely to hate it.
