Well, the lfs finally got a shipment in of bloodworms now that their freezer is fixed. So I bought a pack and fed the crew last night. The ADF and betta in the seven gallon did great - loved it and this time weren't too vicious with each other over the food.

The black kuhli loaches however....... So what I do is put a block of the frozen food in a small terra cotta pot, but the saucer over the large open end, and then just slightly move the saucer once it's on the bottom of the tank so the loaches can fit inside, but the betta can't pig out like crazy..... So I got the pot, set it up, put my hand in to place it all on the bottom, and one of the kuhlis swam right up and bit my finger before the pot was even halfway down. No, I'm not exagerating! I felt the pinch!

I think I should have known better right then.... I woke up this morning, and they had flipped the lid off the pot and even spun the pot itself around!!!!

Well, about an hour ago one of my snails got stuck in a decoration, and I moved it. The kuhlis started SWARMING all over it, trying to get inside it's shell. All eight of them were after this snail. I immediately removed it, thinking something was wrong. I had to pick and move one of the other snails, though. Within 15 seconds, they started swarming all over snail number 2! Now both are in a cup outside the tank for the time being.

The kuhlis are still going over every inch of the tank like mad. It looks like they're still in feeding frenzy mode.

I'm thinking they're now aquainting my scent with good food......

Um.... I'm just a little freaked out here! Should I feed them more to settle them down, or should I just wait it out?

Uh...... Never thought of that....

The tank is getting gravel vacced after dinner. (That'll be in about two hours.) I'll see if that helps.

Thanks!

My lot love bloodworm too, but they do tend to calm down after it's all gone.
I hope you were able to restore order to your tank after the gravel vac!

Hey im with you too thi one time i stuck my hand into my tank to fix my thermometer and the my silverdollar swam right up and hit my hand i freaked the hell out!! :p

Nope, this morning I stuck my hand in to check on one of the snails, and the same thing happened - dive bombed by about six kuhlis.....

It's me. They think I'm food.... It's bad enough having seven cats following me around when it gets close to feeding time, now my kuhlis are doing it too!!

Well, my bettas think I'm food as well. They don't actually aim at the food I have on my fingers - they just peck away at my finger until they happen to get the food stuck to it. And once the food is gone they keep pecking. :hey:

But on the up-side, I can put my hand into the tank whenever I want and get a little tickle! :p
