Maybe A New Tank Mate

Hey there

Anyways my 4 new Del Bichirs have grown an inch since getting them
a month or so ago and are firmly setteled down. Now I'm thinking of
tank mates

At my lfs we have an eel which has been there about 6 months lol
We don't have a clue wot he is tbh! He's just a bit thicker then a pencil
and about 20 odd cm long, and dark brown with slightly lighter patches.

He's got tiny little eyes and likes to hang over the filter with his head dipped
into the water but half his body out of it lol!

So really I need two things answering;

1. What type of eel is this!? (I've looked all over the internet with no luck)
2. Will he get along with my bichirs?

Ok, just wondering. One idea comes to mind, dragonfish(violet goby). Here is a link I found.

No thats not him ,

Alot more skinny then the voilet.

I'm aware of pretty much every common and,
most uncommon eels, but this fella has been there
for so long and I still dont have a clue

Think he'll be ok with the bichirs?

No, not a horse faced loach

I know of pretty much all common eel and eel look-a-likes,
but this fella is really confusing me!
