Hello there, I am asking if its possible, temporarily to move my young betta male of course (under 10 mths?) to my 42 gallon tank that has 3 tetras. All of my tetras are older, 3+ yrs and I would just need him to be there for a while as we move things in the house around. He is always in his own 10G tank and does vey well. Should I even try moving him in with tetras? I dont need any battles! His temporary move would save me alot of time!

Thanks

Tetras are fin nippers and may attack the betta however as it is such a large tank they may not notice and give him space to run away. So as temporary move it should be okay provided you keep a very close eye on him and get his tank back set up as soon as possible.

in a tank that big he should be ok for a short time solution. give him places to hide. he might not like all the fast swimmers...could you get a breeder net and keep him in that if he starts to stress out in there...also, he might hide anyway going from a "small" take to a tank with soooooo much space. then again, he might love it and claim it for his own.
just be careful of nipped fins with the tetras. but for short term you should be ok.

What tetras are we talking about? I keep my male betta with black neons and they don't bother him at all. I've also seen male bettas kept with black neons in LFS so it's a given.
