Basically, we just filled up our Juwel 96 to the brim, put the lid on and..... low and behold! The tank's not bloody level!

Before anybody says 'you should have made sure the stand was level first', we did - using a glass of water as the spirit level-obviously it didn't work very well.

I am well aware we will have to drain some (if not all) of the water out to make it level but how exactly do you do it? Credit cards and beer mats? -_- lol.

P.S The stand does not have adjustable feet. :S

hmm maybe the floor isn't leveled? lol

yeah i know the floor isn't level lol-but can't exactly rip up the carpet and pour more concrete around, although I would love to! :D

I need to 'lift' one end of the tank to make it level

Y'know when you get a flat-pack wardrobe. And it has those plastic wedges? Well, they are for making stuff level. I would suggest getting some wedges. Drain some water and knock, gently, with a hammer/mallat, a wadge in the relavent area. Keep water in the tank as this will show you how level you are.

Wedges are easy to make with any old chisel and a lump of wood. If you need further help let me know.

i used strips of 3mm ply i had laying around.

put the spirit level ontop of the worktop/stand put the strips under unitill its level

I use shims that are sold for door & window installation. You can get things dead level with these. Most of my tanks are on a concrete floor that slopes towards a floor drain, I use 1/2"-3/4" wood to start, and shim off of that. The floor does slope at least 1/2" in 4 feet, it's fun to deal with. You do need a good level to get the tank leveled properly.

hi, this is my first post since my suspension from this forum.

i have used a very thin layer of plywood cut to an angle basically the same as a shim. but didnt feel like heading out to ACE to get some shims. so i made them.
