Loud Sponge Filter And Pump

I got an air pump and a sponge filter thing(which plugs into the air pump but its like a normal filter as its got sponge and real carbon. Its in a case so not reall like a sponge filter) and its real noisy. Its the bubbles that make the noise sorta. Ill try and get a video up to show you what i mean.
ANy idead to keeping it quiet,its driving the parents crazy

I had the exact same problem with the built-in filter on my Mirabello. I couldn't get any sleep with it going, it sounded like a jet plane taking off. (In a watery sort of way.)

What did I do? Erm, well, I keep it in the living room now.

may be you are running too much air thru' it....try to reduce the airflow using a flow control valve...

Does the filter sit inside the tank? I have a filter in my fry tank with a venturi on it and it was really noisy, I found by shutting off the air flow valve (this does not completely cut off the air tho) and pushing it deeper down into my tank, really reduced the amount of bubbles and noise!
