i have had two black knife ghost for two weeks now , but sadly one died the other day due to med of whitespot i think ? , not happy as the me local fish shop said that they would be ok with the med , how ever the other one is nowhere to be seen ( 2 1/2 inch ), i have looked everywhere in the tank ( 240L roma tank ) and no sign as yet , have checked at night time too but still no sign , is it normal for them to stay hidden for two day or so ? .
the large bog wood has a split down the side of it , but can't anything of him , is it possiable he's got stuck down there somewhere .
Please help me as i don't trust me local fish shop anymore

fish in tank
2 - plecostomus catfish ( 9 inch )
4 - black mollies
4 - doilmation mollies
6 - swordtails

Are black ghost knife fish sensitive to whitespot meds.
You will have to remove ornaments and plants from tank, check inside filter, and floor area round the tank.

Ghosts are very sensitive to meds, also you cant keep two in the same tank, they also require a 5ft tank minimum for long term growth.

see i was told that 52 gal (uk) was ok for two ghosts as there was plently of room for the both of them with out them fighting each other or bothering one another .

Have moved and looked everywhere inculeding taking the external pump & filter completley apart , also looked through the gravel and sand no sign of him so must be stuck in that split where i can't get to him or see him .
It's not that there is nowhere esle for him to hide , there's about five good places for him
Has this happened to any one esle or am i the only one ?.

is it possible he too maybe died and the plecs have eaten the remains?

Not a happy day it is a very sad day of my life , i found my BKG half eaten on the bottom of the tank today .
Think that he died same time as the other one did from those dam meds , we be going down to that LFS to sort this out and get a very big sorry from them .

I will one get another BKG someday as they are such a good looking fish and nice watch swimming around the tank .

R.I.P

sorry for your loss

one thing i would advise in the future hun is that you research the fish yourself before buying them as some lfs are only after your money and dont care about the fishes welfare once they leave the store
