If fin rot is untreated it is fatal, so yes, they can.

liek 3 hours before i noticed he died he was sitting on the bottom of the tank... I kind of figured he would have died but not sure of what... it could have possibly been from stress from the neons as i only have two ATM (totally feel bad) but other than that I'm really not sure of what could have caused it...

and yes my profile is up to date...
