Does anyone know the name of this plant both scientific and common.
Thanks
It has been in tank about 8 days and has sent a runner to the surface at the rate of about 4+"'s a day. It is now just about 1" below surface and starting to open.
This started 3 days ago.

Thanks

looks like a apon. did you grow it from a bulb?

With the "runner", I'd definitely say it was a sword of some type.

I'm not good at picking them out, though. Although, I would say it's probably not a bleheri -- notice that your plant's leaves end 'abruptly' at the bottom, while the bleheri sort of fades into the stem.

Although I've heard that some swords will adapt their shape somewhat to local growing conditions.
