I am moving in a couple months and would like to keep my 30 gal tank in my living room (I will be setting up a second 30 gallon tank once I move).

I don't particuarily like "traditional" stands, I want something more "trendy" looking. For illustrative purposes, picture a fish tank that would fit the style of this coffee table from IKEA.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check out tanks made by "cayman" the stands that go with them are quite good i think.

haha. You want trendy?

Fish city, one of my many LFS has many.

One's in the modle of an old 60's fridge, and just as tall. I mean, seriously. It's like 90 tall. or more

And then they have a 40 gallon one that;s a coffee table with a see through glass top.

But they do tanks, not stands.

sorry :X

Unless, of course, you want your tank stand to be a tank itself....

That cayman stand is awsome, however I googled them and it is looking like they are only in the UK. I should have added I'm in the US.

As far as making my own.: 1. I don't have the time (busy studying for the CPA exam and getting ready to move and 2. even if I did have the time, I'm not sure I would trust myself to build something that is going to be holding nearly 400lbs of water and rock.

Fosters and Smith is good, a lot of variety in stands. Still, I'd say the way to go if possible is do your own.

Thanks for the link. Dr. Foster does have some nice stands.

I should add another problem that I came across as I was looking at their stands though. My tanks are 36" long and I can only find 1 stand that size.

Making my own is starting to look more and more attractive, but then there is the trouble of making sure I can fit it in the apt I end up getting, which I probably won't know until a month before I move (I'm moving 7 hours away).

I can't seem to win right now...
