Hell! I even put coordinates in mine! So if a bomb where to show up, unexpectedly in my front porch, I'll know it was the "Fish Guys"!!! :hyper:

HAHAHAHAHA!!

I live in and love New York (Long Island to be precise :p) New York is so vague, and most people here dont even live on the same continent as me so I have no worries :D

Cheirodon-
My husband was born in Caracas- lived there until he was 6, when his mom moved with he and his sister back to the States...have you always lived there?

i dont' know why really anone wouldnt put there name on. especially if they live in big cities. sure the internet has a lot of bad people, but not a lot of those people log onto fish forums and hunt down people
iduno it just doesn't matter at all if you put your location down or not IMO.
but there are those people who play it safe and you cant blame them :/

I don't really care about the place one lives. Like I have said in many posts, I'm in the Queenslands capital. It's nice to just have something creative like "The Down Underverse" :drink: 8) :pepsi: I don't see why people would want to know that anyway. Maybe just to be racist. :smb:

i DOES help when giving people advice if we as least now general region they live in. helps in recommending stores, prices, etc. even just a state/county/provence would be helpful.

i'm posting first, to see if i've got my location down, then i'll vote if i haven't :D

edit: i have  :kana:

i agree with many a molly (babe) it helps when wanting/giving advice
no point me asking where molly bought something when i know she is in USofA
also find it slightly irritating when due to location pointless info is given - though to be fair any advice is always appreciated but the number of times i have said to the screen didnt you see where they live ;-)

I think its good to know someones location because:

1. They might not have access to stuff available where I am as people pointed out,
antibiotics for example are widely available in the US but not here.
2. I sometimes actually bother to quote measurements in metric or imperial.
3. Its interesting to see contrasting ideas on fishkeeping and things like decor.
4. Some political sabotage in FOTM and TOTM would be very interesting!!!

I put my location as Wiltshire England, 'cause who outside of the South West of Englands has ever heard of Melksham?!!!! :D

Sometimes it doesn't help even when you do put your location.

You started all this Fly...where is Milton Keynes? Or Andy....I assume you don't mean Bradford, Ohio?

:dunno:

true, FanOFish. I like that name btw. The only real reason why I would find it useful would be for currency between some countries. I suppose just for fact one would like to know. -_-
