I started growing my own live Daphnia culture today - which I ws quite excited about. I am using yeast water as
I haven't got any green water going yet. This is all leading up to my mission to breed several types of Tetras.
Didn't realise how simple growing Daphnia was, it's all good.

ANyone here culture daphnia. I switched from feeding yeast yesterday to boiled vegetable juice and WOOOSH, in 24 hours the whole tank had gone cloudy and I mean zero visability.
I think something has happened like the yeast is feeding on the vegetable juice OR there is a bacteria bloom, which I'm told daphnia love.
Daphnia look fine. Any ideas what is going on?

Is it easy to grow? I feed my fish frozen daphnia but never tried live

Bought some live brine shrimp on eBay an it stunk to high heaven!

It's one of those things that in principle, is real easy. But if you are loaded, just buy a packet of daphnia each week from your local fs.
But I want to get to the bottom of it and master this thing. Breeding green water seems harder than keeping daphnia, so I'm
looking for vegetable water from my dinners. The basic rule of business; use what you have available to you.
