Hi all,

we have a small tank (12 Liters / 3 gallons) on a window sill facing to the north in a heated room. The tank has a hood on it against evaporation.

Since more than a month now there is some Java moss in it in low-end brackish water, about SG 1.005 (or 25% salt water).

I never have tested the water in there but the Java moss looks fine in there and the same with the water itself.

I was only wondering if there is something we have to watch out for or it is mainly maintenance-free apart from topping up very little water every month?

Java moss is pretty much indestructible, so topping up the water is probably all you will need to do. It will probably grow very slowly.
