so after my big female layed eggs, I felt sorry for her, and tried finding her a mate… unfortunately they are not always easy to find, and when 2 more became available they were only half grown or less… and she wanted nothing to do with either of the new fish, which were both too young to sex…
I tried doing dividers, but even though they did not get along, they kept finding a way to get around them, I could trap the adult, but the smaller ones kept finding a way around them…
so I broke out some silk and plastic plants , that I had put away, after switching to live plants in other aquariums… they worked like a charm, the adult female has her favorite spot, and one of the smaller ones hides just above her, above a big leaf she sits under… the 2 smaller ones also chase around, and the other small one goes behind another plant on the other side of the tank… these guys like to sit in their spot, so I think I’m going to break up the free swimming area a little more, by adding another plant… hopefully as the smaller ones mature I’ll end up with a mate for big momma???
