Limestone Rock

My sister brought me some Limestone from the lake and I was wondering if I can use it in my tank. Will it kill my fish?

cant use it. it will release minerals into the water. put vinager on it and if it bubbles then its a no.

Limestone will not kill your fish. It can however leech minerals into the water that would gradually cause the hardness to rise. Not a great thing if you have hard water already and keep softwater fish. If you have african cichlids however, they prefer harder water/higher pH so in that situation it may in fact be perfectly fine.
