Light Probelm

What temp in degrees C should my tank be at? Also one of my LFS told me to have the light on for 8-10 hours, now another is telling its far to long and that the light should be on for no more than 5-6 hours or ill get algae probelms? whos telling the truth?

To answer your question about lights - if you left them on for 8-10 hours solid then yes it is likely you will get algae problems. If however, you have them on in the morning then off for a couple of hours around lunchtime and then on again in the afternoon & evening then you should be fine.

On all of our tanks our lights are on timers and give or take a few minutes, come on at 8am, go off at midday, come back on at 2pm and then go off around 10pm and we have no algae problems at all.

The temp on our tanks are at around 23/24C.
