my aqua-40 that i bought has started to leak...well not leak but condensation is rising up then leaking out the hinges on the hood, resulting in a very wet stand (really annoying!)....so i might take it back and ask for a refund or just sell it on ebay or something...then i was going to but that VIA-AQUA 380 tank that i was going to have in the first place!...i know theres a few people on here who have aqua-40's; and i was wondereing does yours leak? the via-aqua i might get is 10 gallons so bigger so i think my fish will like it in there! :fun:

I recently bought a Rena Aquarama 60 and seem to be having similar problems? There seems to be a lot of condensation building up under the tank lid so that when you lift the lid all this water starts dripping out everywhere? I never had this problem with my old tank? I left all the compartments that are usually closed open to see if it would help and it has a little but there is still lots of water collecting? Very strange indeed?

yh! seems to be the same apart from mine leaks anyway! my aqua 40 has hinges on the lid tho so it stays up on its own, well the condensations collects on them then wether you open the lid or not it leaks and all under the tank is soaked and around it..im thinking of blocking the holes up but why should i whne its a manufacturer error!

Why not get a condensation tray? Thats what i have and it stops from having a wet hood!

ahh just seen pic gr8 idea Qays..saved me alot of money!!!    !!!

thanks ill get one and cut out holes for the wires to go through (do you do that??)
+ what happens when your feeding? do u just take off the condesation tray? :good:

Yeah, just big holes out for the wires.

You can slide the tray to a side, or take it off when feeding.

A condensation tray sits the top of the tank under the hood. When water evapourates, the tray obstructs water from hitting the hood and the water drips back to the tank.

Mines for a 2ft tank and it was only £2.50 from a local LFS, it even has a little feeder flap, just cut it with scissors for your wires, it doesn't need to look perfect, it's going to be under the lid so you won't see it. At the minute I use mine as a lid on my temporary tank.
