i live in a house with 4 other people, and one of which i talk with often, well she went to another town for a few nights and i went to feed her goldfish and one had a hole in its back. i don't mean seeing flesh hole, i mean you can see its skeleton kind of hole. WHAT IS IT?! WHAT SHOULD I DO?! i know she won't care. the fish used to belong to her x and since they broke up I'm mostly taking care of them (about a week now). about 4 days ago the fish in question had a fuzzy fungus on it that i cleared up with a proper water change and gave the original owner a long speech when she said she had never ever done a water change. the water change cleared it up, i put in the water balance liquids and checked the hp and temp. n now i find the hole in the back and its swimming backwards... should i just try to put it to sleep and have it die humanely? or is there something i can do to fix it? if i should put it to sleep, how do i do it? just put it in a separate tank and add clove oil for it to sleep then add vodka? or is that not how you do it? I've never had to do this before. I've only ever raised sharks (i know odd for a girl but hey! i like they way they swim). PLEASE HELP!!
