Kuhli Loaches

I read somewhere that when young, Kuhli loaches can die from loneliness if they don't have another one of their species. Is this true? (I have 2 swordtails, 1 platy, and 1 Kuhli in a 10G)

Sure they CAN doesn't mean they WILL but I'd get him a few friends. They like to be in groups of 6+.

Well, it's a bit hard to have SIX of them in a 10 gallon tank.... But, ok.

How about one more? The there will be too since they are social. Wouldn't put 6 in a 10g 2 would be ok and they would be happier.


Their bioload is not so much. Also, while it wouldn't be the happiest Khuli loach, fish don;t normally die for reasons like loneliness. Stress would be the reason.

Thanks! I just thought that he was a bit lonely (not little kid goldfish "But mommy! Goldy is lonely!"). I'll keep this in mind.
