Kuhli Loaches

Just wondering how (if you can) sex kuhli loaches? I'm taking it is very difficult??

Apparently the females are a bit broader, somewhat like a minature ft long stripey hotdog for a frog.

Seeing as I have khuli's, if someone can give a proper answer (unlike my comparision to minature food) I'd also like to know how to sex these khul fish

All you can do is take a guess when you think they've got eggs, the belly will be slightly greenish and they'll be fatter.

I only have 2 just now, and one of them is definately pregnant (much fatter and greener than the other one)!

It also looks a lot more lethargic than the other one - resting a lot more and not darting about as much.

I had 8 at one point, then when it came time to swap my tank to what i currently have i had more, so im assuming at some point they had babies lol. They are a very communal fish, id recommend getting more than 2 as mine liked nothing more than all curling up together at night and playing in the bubble wall together

Right when their mature females are much fatter and when with eggs the belly go's green as thats the colour of the eggs.

The secret to sex smaller fish is to look at the pectoral fins the second pelvic fin ray is thicker on males.

OK thanks for the replies. I probably won't be buying anymore fish because I am thinking of changing to brackish and getting a couple of F8s. Not sure though.
