Jst watch when you try and catch it to remove it from yor tank you dont catch its eye as they have tiny spines above them...

i have about 10 of these guys all up. they are awesome and do do a wonderful job of cleaning up excess food. i would though consider getting sand for your substrate as they like to borrow and they will still try and borrow if there are rocks or gravel and they could hurt themselves.

they are reasonably hardy i have found and have so far had no issues with them except for the ones i lost when my heater didnt stop heating

Hiya,

thanks for that.

How do I get the sand in now the tanks full though ? Is there an easy way other than draining the whole tank down ?

Stu

:good: Great fish!:good: They do prefer sand and mine will be in the sand tank eventually, they are quite hardy as already mentioned but I wouldnt let not having sand now put you off buying them. My gravel is rounded and the khulies seem pretty happy one burrows into it the other two lie under bogwood in the day. I would recomend khulies to anyone as long as its a peaceful tank as yours is.

Be careful to get quality one's when buying them though as the skinnier ones can be riddled with bacteria and stuff. Alot of mine died cos of this. The ones I bought that all survived I got from a place who quaranteened them for 2 weeks before putting them up for sales. Excellent little creatures! xx

I have black kuhlie loaches and they are very active. My heater malfunctioned a little and my cory's numbers dropped to 2, the remaining two are much less active, and the Kuhlie loaches actually out compete them for food. I;ve gotten around it by putting food in different parts of the tank, but it's just something to keep in mind.
