Hi 2 weeks ago I added 4 kuhli loach to my 30 gallon tank. I know they are nocturnal but I've only seen 2 out and about and worried they aren't feeding?
Should I have bought more? And any tips on feeding would be appreciated

I've has some for 3 years, and have never seen them eat, yet they are all fat and happy, when ever I do get to view them, which has never been at feeding time, as long as your tank is cycled, and your water is good, they seem to thrive without our intervention

Thank you
The tanks been running for 12 years and my water is good.
As long as I know they aren't going hungry then I'm OK.

4 is a small group. Add way more and you'll see them out more! And, more hiding places. The more places they have to hide the more they feel safe coming out because they know there's shelter nearby. Super light bioload, so don't be too afraid to add more. I'd go for a minimum of 10. You'll see them more active and feeling secure with numbers.

(I totally don't have 21+ of the noodles 😝 )

Thank you, I'm off to get more tomorrow so hopefully they'll feel more secure

The only way to have a good look at them, is in a soup bowl. '

They disappear in 3 gallons.

But they are watching you all the time.

Kuhli are very much...the more the merrier .

I have a slew in my 33 and they go whee every time I am in the basement.

It's very hard to get a photo of them since they are so fast, so I have a video. I got a little carried away but the first part of the video is the 33 gallon with the kuhli loaches.

I have 32 pangio sheffordi but only occasionally see 2 or 3; they love to bury themselves in the sand and become invisible.

Totally unrelated but i had 10 green neon tetra in a 20 but didn't see them for a month so i just assumed they didn't make it so i added 5 more; and couldn't find them so i added 5 more and again 7 more. Well one day they came out and now i found i have 27 :(

Which is a bit too many but then an hour later was down to 0 again ;)

You should probably add a few more then. :)
@ OP: I have probably added 25 kuhli loaches to my 120g and hardly ever see any. I think the clown loaches are too dominant for them to come out, but even before those were added, I really only saw 1-3 of them once every few weeks.

In my new 80g I see them much more often, especially after I changed the big rock I had in the middle to some nice driftwood and added more plants. They are right there... hiding ;)

I knew a few have disappeared in the sumptank below both tanks (and are very difficult to get out again).

Gorgeous tanks! I have 6 now couldn't get anymore as the lfs are out of them. I've seen some out hopefully the rest will follow

Kuhli loaches is a native species here in Malaysia, so there are plenty around. They cost less than USD 1 each.

Pardon the poor camera workmanship. They are rather fast :)

I wish we had plenty of pangio myersi.

well, I still have at least 2 of them... I always only see one at a time... a picture tonight, in the peace lily roots
