I have posted the same Q in african cichlids, but no response. I have been told by reliable sources (members here and elsewhere) that kribs can be kept in brackish water. My question is, do they thrive (important bit that, thrive) in brackish as they seem to in FW? I have even heard that they have been kept in full marine salinity. I am not planning to move any of my fish around, just interested.

Wild kribensis are found in brackish water around the mouths of rivers though most kribs seen in the hobby are several generations captive bred and are well adapted to FW. You could keep kribs in mild brackish water (up to 1.006) without problems though i wouldnt recomend you go any higher.

I think I told you this in that somewhere else mine are snak breed & live at 1.007
but my water is extreamly hard alkaline so they have better tolarance of salt thant kribs in softer water area's asuming your shop keeps them in local water.
