alright, i just bought a pair of cacatuoides and a pair of agassiziis from a breeder yesterday.. and i'm wondering how everyone breeds either one of these little guys. the guy that i bought them from told me that both females were ready to lay eggs, and were looking for suitable places (i noticed this as well when i went to buy them). he told me that, when i set up their 10 gallon breeding tanks, i should use 90% ro water and get the last 10% from my 58 gal tank. they are filled half way up with a sponge filter. in the cacatuoide's tank i put in a small clay flower pot (i'd say it has a 5 inch diameter) upside down that i took a hammer to to make a hole big enough for the male to get through. in the agassizzi's tank, i stuck a glass cave that resembles logs in.. it has three openings: one on top, and two on opposie sides. the temps of the tanks are 76 and 80 (degrees F). their tanks are relatively dark. i have not checked pH or dH or anything of that sort, but they seem to be doing pretty well.. maybe a little stressed out from being moved around.

so.. do i just wait?

i've never owned cichlids before, much less tried to breed them, but i read posts and did some research.. everyone just says wait wait wait, but i would like to know some other successful breeding setups
