Hi,

I'm new to the forum.

I've recently purchased the Juwel Vision 180 (pick up on sunday) and I'm looking for ideas of what to stock it with.

Does anybody have this tank? What fish have you got?

I'm interested in Cichlid's altough I understand that the tank isn't really suitable for the bigger Cichlid's.

What options would I have regarding Cichlids?

If anybody has pictures of there tanks I would love to see them.

Thanks

You could have a pair of rainbow cichlids and say 5 dwarf gold barbs, or 10 smaller tetras in there. With maybe a bristlenose or some cories too?

I have got pics of my old Vision 180, but it was one of my first tanks and it was set up reaaaally bare.

Yes, it was a bit crap, so probably no inspiration lol...

Thanks!

Do different varietys of dwarf's go well together?

I think I'm gonna go for a less is more approach so I'm just looking for a few different species.

Hi,

I've got 2 Vision 180's (my twins, lol) - both have external Eheim filters on them, as I knew I'd overstock a bit for a while. Anyhow here they are:

No. 1 - home to Blood Parrots, Angelfish, Kissing Gourami, King Tiger Plec, Dwarf and Bosemani Rainbowfish

No. 2 (really didn't want to post this picture as I'm not happy with the scaping - have had to go back to plastic/silk plants as certain occupants of this tank munch/dig their way through real ones - so call this a work in progress) - home to Gold Severums, Angelfish, Blue Rainbowfish, Clown Loaches, YoYo Loaches

Going to be rehoming some of the fish soon, but having trouble deciding who (definitely not the Parrots, they're my babies)

Me again, just found another pic of the second tank's former life as a Malawi setup.

i have that exsact tank.Ive ruined mine with the fish though,I have changed my mind about the fish now,i would love parrots but would eat my other fish.My stocking list is:

1 ram
1 silver shark
2 ember tetras
2 rainbows
1 pictus catfish
4 serpea tetras
3 guppies
4 mollies
2 female fighters
3 angels

I would love a pair of parrots but will eat my other fish.

to be honest...as well as the Parrots, I'd be pretty worried about the Angels with the smaller fish too - I learnt the hard way

Parrots need a 55g anyway, sevs aren't an option for a 180 unless they're little babies either. Same goes for the silver sharks and clown loaches (although the clowns grow very slowly so as babies would be ok).

I keep my adult angels with tetras, but they're in a 6ft heavily planted tank (6 angels, too many tetras to count) and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Thanks for all the replys!

KimA how many fish are in with the parrots?

Defo worth getting an external?

There are 17 fish in total (including the Parrots) - am planning on rehoming some of the fish shortly if the larger tank purchase doesn't come through, but the Parrots will definitely be staying - less is more as they say, lol.

The external's great if you want/need the extra filtration - time will tell - but the Juwel internals are okay and do their job.
