Juwel Lighting Unit

hi im new on here and have posted this in another section, but thought i would try here as well (hope thats ok) i have just purchased a second hand juwel delta 100, the lighting unit is playing up, when we plug it in it comes on for about 2 seconds then goes off again, if we unplug it and plug it back in it does the same. i was just wondering if anybody knows what could be causing this? will we have to buy a full new unit or could it be something simple?? we have checked the wiring in the plug any help appreciated, thank you !!!

try changing the bulb or bulbs. does it have a starter switch. Sometimes you have to change the whole unit. usually when lights do this its the bulbs about to go .

unfortunatly you'll need a new unit.
the multilux on a delta is particularly prone to failure.
you're looking at around £60 for a new multilux unit

hi yes, tried changing the bulbs and that didnt work, hubby took it to a look fish shop and they tried bulbs in it, they basically told him to scrap it, so hubby brought it home and tried to open it to see if he could fix it, well he certainly "fixed" it lol. it wont be going back together, so a new unit it is then!!!! thanks for the help

sorry to but in on a topic but just fort i would ask about diff kinds of lighting for my jewel tank. i have a jewel record 60 tank an have knowtised that in fish stores that the tank look realy blue/white an show off the colours of the fish realy well but once i have brought the fish and get them in my tank i am sometimes dissapointed as the colours dont show as much due to my light. does anyone have any recomendations of lights etc??

I've found that arcadia original tropical and arcadia freshwater lamp do very well in cobination
