Hey peeps

Can anybody help me please ? I have a new Juwel Rio125 which has a compact H filter system in it. Its got all the normal sponges in it, but it blows the surface way too much for my liking. The smaller fish struggle and when you put food in, its blown down to the bottom too quickly. Does anybody else have any experience with these as I would like to slow it down ,but not sure how that would effect it.

Thanks

Don't know. I have a Rio 125 and have had no problems. My danios enjoy the current and my neons have no problems.

Maybe you could put a tall plant nearby so that it breaks up the current a bit?

Can I ask what you attached to the pump outlet ? I used the 30 degree angle bit, which sends the water up to the surface. I couldnt do much else because of the juwel background is too proud and nearly hits it... You would think Juwel products would fit together well...

i have the jewel 180, and the plants dont like to be near it, they just get blown on their side. But the fish seem fine, and someone else had told me to turn the filter off for the few minutes i feed them so that isnt a problem

i run 3 jewel 125s and for my discus i put an extra angle on the outlet so i points nearly straight down. works for my discus.

Thanks

I have a juwel rekord 120, i switch the filter off for the 2 mins they feed, then put it back on. They are pretty powerful filters really and as far as breaking up the flow i shoved some pond weed (well it looks like it- cant remember what it's called) in the substrate, it seems to be faring very well.

I also have the Rio 125 and you can turn the pipe bit to face downwards. Ive put some cut up tights over the end also so the fish cant swim up it. This breaks up the current. If anything id like it to be a bit more powerful!

OK - thanks for all the advice. I have put the extra angle on and faced it down, as said - plants are blown about a bit so moved them, hopefully this weekend I can get the water changed and maybe put something in the pipe to stop the flow a small ammount.

Thanks
