Anyone know where to buy them from? Online.

All i keep seeing in shops are reflectors or something.

I want a UV one.

Any info grateful. Thanks.

Oh really.

So all these arcadia ones and whatnot that iv been seeing, will fit, if its the same size?

Didnt know that.

Thanks :)

Yes that right.
I use the aradia bulbs there alot better than juwel.

I don't use the bulbs that came with mine either, as long as they are the same length width etc. u will be ok

Yeh as long as it is the right size it should fit. I've experimented with a few different bulbs to try and find my favourite spectrum.

Well im after a one with a purple tinge to it (UV?) as its brings out some fish colours better. Plus its nicer than the standard.

Unsure as to what it will be called though with the Arcadia brand. My local stores generally just sell the Arcadia ones.

Well there is the original tropical lamp which is a blue/red spectrum and brings out the colour in most coloured tropical fish, and there is the marine blue atinic one which gives off the UV output (which i'm not sure if you can use in a freshwater or not).

Hope this helps.

IMO the original one would be the one to go for because..:

1. It will show up most FW fish better than a marine because that is what it was designed to do. :D
2. It will be much more benifitial to live plants and their ability to photosynthesis with the spectrum given off.
3. I'm not sure you can use marine bulbs in a FW set-up. -_-

But if you can use them then it's up to you what you chosse it is just my opinion. 8)

Hope this helps HTH :good:

Sorry I got a bit carried away with the smilies lol :D

Actually if you're on Juwel high lite bulbs you can only use them as of now.

Would this mean that the Jewel high-lite tubes are non-compatible with the standord T5 balasts? Its the only type of T5 my lfs carries, as if they don't fit, I'm gonna have to find a different dealer. Visa Versa, The Jewel balasts I take it are the only ones that work with their tubes?

Thanks

Yea they do and they cost like 25 quid each. Good excuse to upgrade to power compact?
