I can see no reason that it would be an issue as long as the tank size was sufficient to allow adequet space for both fish.

you would need a large tank but you the plecs are compatible with each other

royal plecs are VERY VERY MESSY fish and common plecs are very messy too, so they can be kept together with no fighting but water quality may become an issue

i second the fact royal plecs are very messy you would need a hell of a lot of filtration in a huge tank

Just out of interest, what size is your tank, pinkdolphin? And is this the one you are also keeping goldfish in?
